Ingredients of Blue Veg Pulao

  1. You need to prepare 300 gm of long grain Basmati rice.
  2. You need to prepare 650 gm of warm water.
  3. You need to prepare 1/4 cup of mixed carrot and beans chopped.
  4. Prepare 1 of small medium size onion.
  5. Prepare 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste.
  6. You need to prepare 3 tbsp of ghee.
  7. You need to prepare 1/2 tsp of Garam masala powder.
  8. You need to prepare of Whole garam masala.
  9. Prepare 3-4 of black pepper.
  10. You need to prepare 3&4 of cloves.
  11. Prepare 1 inch of cinnamon stick.
  12. You need to prepare 3 of Cardamom.
  13. Prepare 1 tsp of cumin seeds.
  14. Prepare 1 of mace.
  15. Prepare 1 of star anise.
  16. You need to prepare of Blue tea.
  17. You need to prepare 2 tbsp of Butterfly Pea flower.
  18. Prepare 1/4 cup of hot water.

Blue Veg Pulao step by step

  1. Take 2 tbsps and 1/4 cup hot water in two batches and let the tea steep for at least an hour..
  2. Wash and soak the rice in strained blue tea for at least half an hour..
  3. Heat ghee in a thick bottom pot, once heated add the whole garam masalas and then add the chopped onion, saute and add carrots and beans and saute it..
  4. Add the ginger garlic paste and cook for few minutes, add the salt as per taste and garam masala and cook for another 5 minutes or so, then add the rice soaked in blue tea..
  5. Mix the rice gently and then add the strained blue tea and mix again. Then add the hot water to it..
  6. Cover it with aluminium foil and the lid and cook it for 10 minutes on full flame. Put off the flame and let it rest for another 20-30 minutes and serve it warm /hot with your favourite curries..
  7. Note: *use same measuring cup for rice and water.....the rice and water is in the ratio of 1:2..
